George II Period Mahogany Antique Breakfont Bookcase
Very fine quality antique breakfront bookcase suitable for a grand house drawing room, this is an especially fine example of the earlier Georgian period and it has the attrubites of the period such as fine dense timber, large hand cut dove tails, oak lined drawers, very precise details and panel construction and really good solid bracket feet.

18th Century Antique Breakfront Bookcase
Antique breakfront bookcase with four blind doors below four astral glazed doors, this bookcase is made of very fine mahogany which has attained a lovely colour and patina with slender glazing bars, an well-proportioned high waisted stance and it is also very useful having locks, keys, adjustable shelves and plenty of storage space to hide things in. There can surely be no more elegant a way than this to keep the drawing room tidy.

Breakfront bookcase
Large antique bookcase made of good South American mahogany. It has eight doors, four glass for display and four blind to hide things, behind which are adjustable shelves. The doors and astral glazing bars are typical of this early period of cabinet making, which is to say that they are as thin as possible to create the impression of space and light. Breakfront bookcase
Good scale antique breakfront bookcase from English country house drawing room or library. This one was actually found in a large town house in Versailles. It is made of really fine Cuban mahogany with interesting grain patterns. it has adjustable shelves and lots of lovely cupboard space. It is also not too deep front to back so will not intrude far into the room. Please excuse the colour as it is in the photographs. It has not been restored yet - once the varnish is carefully lifted away, the deep patination will be revealed.

George III Breakfront Secretaire Bookcase
18th century George III period mahogany breakfront bookcase with a secretaire or secretary drawer in the centre. The desk drawer is surprisingly useful in a modern home as laptops and stationery can be accessed easily and quickly hidden away when not in use. This bookcase is made of especially dense grained mahogany which is a good deep color and extremely heavy and solid. It is really well made with good drawer action, precise dovetails and well constructed doors.
