Early 18th Century Oak Antique Mule Chest Coffer
Early 18th century oak mule chest. The mule chest is a coffer at the top with drawers underneath. This mule chest has developed a lovely deep colour and patina over its long life and it is good that the grain of the timber is visible. A lot of furniture of this period has a layed of dirt that hides the timber itself and makes the whole piece look very dark, but not this one! There are some old repairs and it has not been restored yet, but this is a wonderfully tactile as well as a useful piece of furniture.
